Help Us Make Magic Happen at Alton Towers 2026 Donate Every year, Alopecia UK brings together hundreds of children, young people, and families affected by alopecia for a special day at Alton Towers. For many, it’s far more than a theme park visit — it’s a day of confidence, connection, and joy. It’s often the first time they’ve met others who truly understand what they’re going through, and the experience can be life-changing. Our 2026 Appeal We’re aiming to raise £5,500 to help us cover the costs associated with this well-loved event — and we’re inviting businesses and supporters to help make it happen. Each year, between 270-300 people come together for this unforgettable day, supported by our dedicated volunteers and the generosity of donors and sponsors like you. A key part of your support goes towards providing free tickets for children with alopecia, the hiring of our 'base' for our much-loved lunchtime meet-up, ensuring our volunteer travel costs are covered and much more. Your contribution makes this life-changing experience more accessible to those who need it. Why This Event Matters "Very emotional for me and my daughter to see so many children and adults with alopecia. Until that day my daughter was thinking she is the only one child with alopecia in the UK." "Enjoyed being able to have my head uncovered in public without fear of judgement." "I saw a genuine smile from my son which I hadn't seen in the two years since he lost his hair. But equally his brother loved the rides so both boys were really happy, and so were the parents." "I loved everything from start to finish. I loved being part of a group as I got to know my group and never once felt alone. Loved the structure too." "It was all excellent. Having the unity of everyone together at the event was really special. The WhatsApp group was invaluable in getting messages relayed, finding people, etc." "I write on behalf of myself and my husband and my 18 yr old daughter with Alopecia. We all collectively feel that this event is so important and it’s wonderful to be a part of a ‘family’ of people who just ‘get it’." "I felt that, for once, having alopecia was normal. Other people in the park tended not to stare as it was suddenly normal to see people with no hair as we were in such a big group." Your support helps make these moments possible — and allows more children to attend free of charge, creating memories they’ll never forget. Ways Your Business Can Help We understand businesses like to give in different ways, so for 2026 we’ve made supporting the event simple, with two options: Make a Donation (up to £500) If your business would prefer to make a straightforward charitable donation of up to £500, your gift will directly support the event, including free tickets for children with alopecia. How?Donations can be made quickly and easily through our website by clicking the pink donate button on the right hand side of your screen. You’ll receive an email from us as an acknowledgement and thanks for your contribution towards our event. Because no promotional benefit is received, donations can usually be treated as charitable gifts for tax purposes. Become an Official Event Sponsor (Over £500) For businesses that are able to contribute even more, sponsorship is a wonderful way to play a more visible role in bringing this special day to life. By contributing over £500, your business can become an official Event Sponsor. Why Your Support MattersChildren and young people with alopecia can go through months — even years — feeling different, isolated, or unseen. This event breaks that cycle in one day. When your business sponsors this event, you’re not funding a theme park ticket — you’re restoring confidence, easing anxiety, and giving children and young people a space where they feel safe and understood. Your support helps to reduce the cost of attending for families by allowing us to provide free tickets for children. You also help Alopecia UK to cover other essential event costs, including ensuring that our brilliant volunteers can be there to support attendees. For your business, it’s a chance to demonstrate genuine commitment to inclusion, community wellbeing, and support for people with visible differences — values your staff, customers, and wider community will recognise and appreciate. Sponsorship comes with a range of promotional benefits such as logo placement, social media recognition, and visibility at the event — but more than that, it connects your business to a day that means the world to so many people. Whether you’d like to give £1,000, £2,000 or cover our full event costs, your support will help us create a truly unforgettable experience in 2026. How?If you’re interested in becoming a sponsor, please contact us directly on [email protected].Sponsorship packages cannot be arranged through the website. As sponsorship provides promotional value, it is usually treated as a marketing expense for tax purposes. Please speak to your accountant or tax adviser to confirm what’s best for your business.
