About us What we do What we do Last updated: 9 June 2025 Alopecia UK is a small national charity founded in 2004 and registered with the Charity Commission of England & Wales in September 2005. Registration with the Scottish Charity Regulator took place in February 2014. You can read more about our history here. Our Vision A world where people affected by alopecia live the life they want. Our Mission To provide support, community, and education to improve the lives of those affected by alopecia. Our Pillars of Work Living Well We will provide people with information and support resources to help them to live well with alopecia. Community Building We will create opportunities for people affected by alopecia to connect, share practical advice, and feel less isolated. Empowering Choice We will help people affected by alopecia to make informed choices about their healthcare. Advocate for Change We will raise awareness of the challenges faced by those affected by alopecia, in both society and healthcare systems, and campaign for improved care. Champion Research We will place those affected by alopecia at the heart of research and use research to inform our support model.
