Podcasts

We have pulled-together some alopecia-related podcasts, as well as some individual episodes that mention alopecia in otherwise unrelated podcasts. The podcast format can be a convenient way to listen to conversations and news on the go. Listening to the experiences of others can be very helpful. Talk Hair Loss with Alopecia UK

Alopecia UK recorded 12 podcast episodes in 2021/22. Talk Hair Loss features a range of experiences including speaking to men, parents, and young people, and topics varied from dating, to regrowth, to holidays & travelling. 

The Alopecia Life Podcast

Alopecia Life is described as 'cool conversations with people living with alopecia, interviews with coaches, clinicians, specialists in their field, along with parents and their children as they are living with alopecia areata'.

Alopecia Connection

The Alopecia Connection was launched after the now infamous incident at the Oscars that year. Hosts Frank and Tommy share their own experiences and interview other members of the alopecia community. 

Losing It with Aderans

Jane and Bradley from Aderans UK Trendco speak to different guests as they positively navigate the highs and lows of the hair loss experience.

Appearance Matters: The Podcast!

The official podcast of the Centre for Appearance Research - a world leading research centre investigating body image and appearance psychology research.

Alopecia Content in Other Podcasts

Go Love Yourself is a podcast with themes around body image, acceptance and confidence. Episode 9 of Season 4 features Laura Mathias, aka @relightalopecia, and was recorded ahead of Alopecia Awareness Month 2023. Laura explains what it was like to lose her hair at the age of 13, and how she started to stop wearing wigs after 17 years. 

The Silent Why Podcast is on a mission to find 101 different types of loss to see how people cope with them, and if it's possible to find hope in every kind of loss. In this episode, they speak to Laura Burns who has had alopecia for many years. And in a bonus episode, they speak to Laura's husband about dating and then marrying someone with alopecia.

Intertwined is a podcast designed to demystify how career decisions are made in the real world. In episode 8, between minutes 12 and 20, as well as talking about her career, Caroline talks about her alopecia and how therapy helped her to cope.
