After years of not having charity places, Alopecia UK is excited to confirm we have sought-after charity places in the iconic TCS London Marathon - the World's biggest marathon event! 

We are delighted to give you the chance to take place in the race of a lifetime while raising much-needed funds for Alopecia UK to help us continue our work to improve the lives of those affected by alopecia.

Ballot Places

UPDATE: The 2027 TCS London Marathon public ballot is now closed. 

To give more people the chance to run the 2027 event for Alopecia UK, we are asking everyone who applies for one of our charity places to also apply for the public ballot and, if successful, use their ballot place to raise funds and awareness for us. In 2026, we had an additional 3 runners use their own ballot places to support Alopecia UK, providing an incredible boost to the charity. 

We intend to keep our applications open until after results of the public ballot, so if your ballot bid is not successful, your Alopecia UK application will still be considered for a charity place.

When will I hear if I have been successful?

Whether successful or not, all applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by end of July 2026.

Management of expectations 

Last year, we received far more applications than we have charity places to offer. With only four charity places available, we recognise we will disappoint many applicants by not being able to provide them with a London Marathon place. We are sorry that we are unable to secure more charity places, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who wishes to support Alopecia UK.
