Hi everyone, on the 27th September I will be doing a sponsored 5k run. For those who know me know I am definitely not a runner. I don’t even run for the train, but I wanted to do something I knew would challenge me in every way possible whilst also raising money for a charity that is extremely close to my heart, Alopecia UK.

A few weeks after my 24th birthday I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata. And in a matter of weeks I lost just over 60% of my hair. This diagnosis turned my family and my world upside down in every way possible.

This condition has been a big part of my life for the past year and a half, and while it comes with its many challenges, it’s also shown me the strength of family and the importance of support.

Alopecia UK is a small charity working to improve the lives of those affected by alopecia. By donating, you will be helping fund research, raise awareness, and provide vital resources for those affected.

Every step I take in this run is for every person young and old, living with alopecia.

Thank you so much for your support! Kiera Patel
