In 2014 my beautiful Mum came over to see me and my sisters to tell us something. She grabbed her hair and pulled a handful out, at the time she wasn’t even sure what was wrong. When she went to the doctors they said straight away that it could be alopecia, within a month she had lost all her hair which for her was extremely painful and she had sores on her head. Not long after that she lost her eyebrows and eyelashes. Worse still she lost her fingernails and toenails, luckily for my mum her nails did eventually grow back. She was referred to a dermatologist in London who diagnosed her with alopecia universalis, this is the most severe form of alopecia! My Mums hair has never grown back. My Mum is the most courageous woman I know, she is beautiful inside and out! She takes everything in her stride and is very open and honest about her condition.
For the last 3 years I have been growing my hair long enough to be able to donate it to the little princess trust. Whilst also hoping to raise money for alopecia uk and increase awareness about alopecia. I will be going to urban greens in Winchester on the 27th May to have my hair cut ( by my talented best friend Nikki) to be donated. I would be so grateful if people could support me please. X
