'Finn's First Day' is a short rhyming story produced by those with alopecia for others with alopecia. The story has been written by Amy Johnson and Kate Harrison, illustrated by Mandy Eaton-MacLean and designed by Robert Newman of Toasted (www.toasted.biz). All of these individuals have alopecia themselves and have not received any payment for producing the booklet. It is their gift to Alopecia UK and the wider alopecia community.
The story describes Finn's first day at school. Finn has alopecia and is a bit nervous about how his fellow classmates will react to his difference in appearance. Finn has patchy hair loss.
The story is told through a short 8 verse rhyme which we hope will appeal to all ages (but primarily the book is aimed at a young audience, aged 3 - 7). We believe it will appeal to all ages due to the eye-catching illustrations.
The A5 booklet is paperback with a glossy cover. The printing cost of the booklets is kindly supported by the British Association of Dermatologists, allowing us to keep the costs as low as possible.
