This Alopecia Awareness Month, Alopecia UK is turning 20 – and we’d love for you to join in the celebrations! To mark this special milestone, we’ve created a virtual birthday cake where you can leave a message of support, thanks, or celebration for the alopecia community.

On 14th September 2005, Alopecia UK registered as a charity and over the past two decades we have continued to be the place that those affected by alopecia, of all types, can turn to for support, community, and education. 

Whether you’ve been part of the charity for years or just found us recently, your words can help us reflect on how far we’ve come and look forward to the future together.

Our community has already helped us to fill one cake with candles and messages, and we are now on to our second cake! Our theme for Alopecia Awareness Month 2025 is 'Strength in Numbers' and getting many messages added to our virtual cakes is a great demonstration of this. 

The messages are heartwarming for us to read. If you would like to understand the difference Alopecia UK makes in the lives of those affected by alopecia, consider grabbing a cuppa and reading the messages already left by others, before adding your own.

An optional donation can be added with your message. Any funds raised with our birthday cake will be added to our 2025 Alopecia Awareness Month appeal at the end of the month.
